Chase J is a Louisiana based, progressive house DJ. He was born and raised in small town Louisiana. Growing up mostly listening to country music, he always had a love for deep lyrical journeys. In college, he was introduced to electronic music through the likes of Deadmau5, Wolfgang Gartner, Avicii, and eventually Eric Prydz. The music of Pryda and Cirez D struck an obsessive chord and heavily influenced his musical journey from that moment. He taught himself to DJ, eventually gravitating toward deep melodic and hypnotic progressive sounds. After nailing down a distinct deep progressive style, he started his Subduction podcast series in 2017. In geology, Subduction is when an oceanic tectonic plate collides with a continental plate, this causes the oceanic plate to be “subducted” under the continent, eventually melting, and the melt then rises to the surface in the form of a volcano. The idea for Subduction is to bring the underground progressive sounds to the surface, much like the oceanic plate melt. Subduction and his DJ career took a hiatus in 2019, but the call to share this beautiful progressive music returned late in 2022. The show started streaming live on Saturo Sounds in March of 2023. Other than local Louisiana gigs, he has been fortunate enough to play in San Diego and Los Angeles.
