Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Khankra’s passion for electronic music started at a young age and has continued to evolve with time. Khankra’s roots have always been entwined in hypnotic grooves, rolling baselines and driving melodies. At 17 he purchased his first set of 1210’s and from there he began forging name for himself in the Dublin scene, playing at nights across some of the city’s best clubs like The Redbox, Tripod, The Pod, the Button Factory, Traffic, Mono, The Chocolate Bar.
After somewhat of a hiatus from the scene, in 2014 Khankra had the opportunity to warm up for industry icon, and person hero, Sasha at The Button Factory. Following this, Khankra teamed up with the Melodic Residents and handed the headphones over to some other industry legends during this time, including Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Los Soruba, The Drifter and Guy J on a number of memorable occasions.
In late 2019, Khankra teamed up with DJ’s Glenn Molloy, Soulfinder and Ger Bozyk to form Fusion Underground. Since then the group have started the Fusion Underground Mix series, which has had some excellent support across the industry and continues to grow.
Khankra has a number of Production projects in play, adding to his releases already on Compatible Records.
In Aug 2021 Khankra was introduced to the Saturo Sounds crew by Doogie Mustard and since then his ‘Digital Progression’ show has gone from strength to strength. You can catch Khankra’s show on the 2nd Tuesday of the month 8-10pm (BST)!
